Our First Vishu @ US

We were formally engaged on 14th April 2007,a vishu day.So Vishu is always special for us.This is our second Vishu after marriage.Last year we celebrated it at Mr.K.V's home.Amma made kani and sadya for us that day. That vishu was great with vishu kani, vishu sadya and of course the vishu kaineetam.
This is our first Vishu all alone that too far away from home.So I have decided it to make it so memorable and unforgottable.
We have arranged the Kani with the avaiable things. We were forced to compromise the "Kani konna" with some yellow flower avaiable here.Mr.K.V managed to get it on his way back home from office.
Please have a look at my Vishu kani....
The next segment in Vishu is the Sadya.I have decided to give a surprise to Mr.K.V when he comes home for his lunch.I have made a try wid some dishes that I have never tried in my life time. When Mr.K.V came home for lunch he was surprised to see my effort and was telling that he never expected it.
Here is the image of my Sadya.
We  celebrated the vishu in our own way with kani, sadya, kaineetam and temple visit with friends

Slumdog Millionaire Sweeps!!!!!

My last post was also about Slumdog Millionaire;about my experience of watching it over here in U.S.
Eight oscars out of the ten nominations is indeed a huge acievement:-Best Film,Best Director,Best Adapted Screenplay,Best Cinematography,Best Fim Editting and of course for Best Sound Mixing,Best Orginal Score and Best Original Song.
Cheers to Rahman and Rasool for bringing Oscars to the Indian soil.U made as feel proud. No words to describe the emotions that we have.
Since we have no cable connections at home,we struck in front of the laptop to look for the sites which live stram the oscar nite.Atlast we got the live streaming of the India Vision Channel in Indian Terminal. Our hearbeats were increasing when each and every award were anounced(as every Indian had on that day). When the award for sound mixing was announced Rasool made us proud being a malayali.Since we were seeing the india vision live we were not able to see properly the awards announced for Best Original Score and Best Original Score.Mr.K.V, a hardcore .ARR fan was pretty disappointed on that.He was forced to be satisfied with the news video clippings shown the next day.
Any ways Cheers to Rahmaan,Rasool and of course for Slum Dog Millionaire!!!!
I am much more hppy since the best song is Jai ho as it is my favourite.....

Slumdog Millionaire - First Movie seen from US

I used to get scolding from Mr. K.V for not watching English movies. According to him watching English movies will help us to improve the command over the English accent. Even though it's a fact usually I avoid watching English movies.

Last week he took me to watch the movie Slumdog Millionaire. I was also interested in watching this movie since it had bagged 10 Oscar nominations and I had already read that it is the movie which describes about the life in Mumbai slums.

The movie depicts the story of Jamal Malik, an 18 year orphan from Mumbai slums who wins 20 million rupees in the show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”.

The movie begins when Jamal Malik is tortured by the policemen in a precinct accused of cheating a game show. Jamal, who has no education and works in a call center serving tea, is close to wining twenty million rupees in the show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” giving precise answers to the questions and raising suspicion of fraud. The police inspector shows the videotape and after each question, Jamal tells parts of his childhood with his brother Salim, his crush for Latika and their fight to survive on the streets to justify each correct answer, guided by his common sense and past experience, and prove his innocence

Special mention to be made is about the music in the movie which keeps it going.Kudos to A.R.Rahman for his wonderful effort. No surprise in bagging 3 Oscar nominations and winning golden globe for the music in the movie.
Overall it is an excellent movie.

My favorite song from the movie is Jai ho and I am posting its video here

Weekend!!!

Another Weekend!!!
This week there was snow alert...
I was anxiously waiting snow fall to do my best hobby here.
Skiing @ our apartment ski area.
Our ski area is actually a small hill made of grass, but we convert it to our ski area during snowfall...
When snow started I started disturbing Mr.K.V to go out and ski.
But he insisted to finish my household activities particularly cleaning (our Sundays are meant for cleaning) before we go out.
I knew that Mr.K.V won't take me out if I don't complete the stuffs he mentioned.
So I finished off my duties to go out. (It reminded me of a child finishing home work quickly to go out to play).
Around 4.00P.M we went out with our new cam.
Mr.K.V wanted to take snaps with his new cam and I wanted to play with the snow.
When he was busy taking snaps I was busy playing with the snow and skiing....

Some of the snaps with our new cam are posted here.
Have a look at Mr.K.V's photographic skills.

Birth of my blog

These days I'm becoming more lazier.

Afternoons are always boring for me, when Mr.K.V goes back to office after his lunch. I simply waste my time watching some films over the internet or most probably sleeping.

When I discussed about this to my friends over here, one of them suggested of starting a blog.

So my blog has born on this day, the 16th of January 2009, Friday at 2:40 PM.

I don't know whether a lazy fellow like me will continue scribble down anything over here.

Anyways, let’s wait and see.
